27th of july we went to north bali. We started in the Sandan Butterfly park where we saw some really nice butterflies. We held big night butterflies and also a sort of
"walking leaves". After the butterfly park we visited Jatiluwih, known for its magnificent view on the rice paddies. Close to Batukaru mountain you can view miles of rice
paddies, very impressing.
More north is bedugul which is a city next to the Bratan lake. We visited a traditional market and had lunch. The Temple Ulun Danau Bratan is close to the lake and has a very
nice garden.
Then, on to the GitGit waterfalls. There are two big waterfalls to be seen here. Also, our tourdriver has his house here. We were invited in and were given some homegrown
coffee. Very good. The house is made out of cement bricks on a cement plate. There is no finishing like plaster, floor, paint, ... Although, to our standards this house is
more like a shed, the tourdriver was very satisfied. His previous house was a wooden shed and with some help from a dutch sponsor he was able to afford this stone house.
People here were very friendly to us and we had a nice talk. This experience really opens your world...
