singapore and the start of Indonesia

Ok, Thought i'd write another blog as I havn't had enough time since tuesday to do one.

On Tuesday Night we went off to the night safari which actually was amazing. There was either a tram service which took you round the park or you could walk on foot. We decided to do both. The good thing about this zoo is you can get pretty close to the animals and there aren't really any glass walls protecting you from seeing them. We saw animals including lions, giraffes, leopards, elephants .... all very close. On foot we managed to walk thru a cage which had many flying bats in which again was quite fun, also very fun jumping on nathan and scaring him :-) I also had my picture taken with a snake and a leopard.

On the way back Nathan wasn't feeling too well and by the time we got back to the hotel he decided he needed to go to a hospital. I've been told by him that im not allowed to say why, so if you wish yo know email him.. anyways the day after i found which hospital he was in (which took a while to do) and once we got him outta there we planned the next day. In the evening we went to the races in singapore. My win/lose record was pretty average until the last race which I won and I made a very good profit :-). This paid for the rest of the night. We went to the ministry of sound and just before that hooters. Which wasn't as good as we hoped. The ministry of sound was pretty good much better than liquid obviously!!and we stayed there till 2ish before heading home. We think a male/female prosistute came onto us but we got rid pretty quickly only to bump into him/her again later :-(

Thursday was check out day from singapore. I must say singapore is a very nice place and i really liked it. Its much more than just a stop over place.The prices are steep compared to India but thats to be expected. Before I left singapore I have posted a present home for my mum and rachel. So expect your present within 6 weeks as its been posted by boat :-D sorry im so cheap :-p

The plane journey to Bali was pretty quick and once we got there it was remarkable how hot it was. It was 28 degrees at 8pm which is staggering. We found a wikid hotel and then found out some good/bads news. The good news is that its currently indonesia new year wooop!! its actually 1930 here! the bad news is they switch off all the electricity for 12hrs the day after we arrived which was the friday. We kind of didnt believe them but waited till friday to find out. On the thursday we watched the parade for new year which was fun and then me and nathan had a little argument which hopefully is all sorted. On the way back we bumped into some girls from bali who we hung out with for a bit and celebrated the new year. There was this seedy american guy with them who they called the boss who was buying them drinks.He called me mr bean :-( which wasnt nice so i nicknamed him george bush which displeased him alot, which made me feel good about myself :-). On friday and still in kuta we found out that we wasn't allowed out of our hotel, no1 was allowed out which meant i could lay in woop, in the afternoon i stayed round the pool all day and then the lights went out at 6pm. We was in total darkness and after 10pm was so bored i just fell asleep.

On saturday which is today went went round kuta and to the beac. I really can't explain how hot it is here. Within 3 minutes i have sweat pouring down my face and back. The beach was ok if not a little dirty and we then went back to the hotel to collect our bags. From there we got a taxi down to ubud to start our 2 week tour. We have checked in and will be meeting the other within the next hour which is quite exciting... hopefully the next 2 weeks are going to be good. I'll write back later.
