As far as countries with extreme poverty go, India is bringing thousands of people out of it. It is quickly closing the technology gap as more people move to cities and are exposed to things such as modern medicine, transportaion and even cell phones. Education is taking an upswing as parents work hard to send their kids to school in order for them to learn english and get a proffesion. However many of their parents can niether read or write. Progress in the government is happening at a much slower rate as it is still very corrupt and the effects of the caste system still resonate in the culture. Population is a problem that will need to be addressed soon as India has a billion people and the majority of which are moving towards the cities. Making them very overcrowded and forcing peole to live in slums. As long as the economy continues to grow and lift people out of poverty many of these problems will fix themselves.
