Edit Blog Post

Hey guys - I had just written a huge blog! and then i lost it all.....so no writing again and i fear will have to be rather more condensed sorry...

Yesterday was shivratree a national holiday in India. It is a Hindu holiday to celebrate the anniversary of Shiva's marriage. All the girlies met up and went to a huge colourful noisy temple about half an hours walk away. It was bustling - filled with people, surrounded by monkeys, alive with music a huge brass band playing uplifting music inside the temple itself. We asked one of the organisers and he said that it was fine for us to go in and so barefoot we followed a winding line through the temple. First we walked through the band and they tried to dance with us 😊 so funny! everyone was so happy and cheerful. Then we walked up some steps and had a red paste painted in a line on our foreheads. Then we rang a bell and were given small brass pots filled with water with a flower in. These were poured over a statue of Shiva and then we were laden down with fruit and a weird liquid in a bag...we later disposed of the latter when we found out it was "ganja water" apparently it gets you high and on shiva's anniversary its legal....anyway didnt touch any of it!

We then went to Toral's house and helped her cook and feed some poor children in her neighbourhood and then had a gorgeous lunch. So shivratree was wonderful!

i got my nose pierced...i thought about it long and hard and i'm convinced i made the right decision. we all got it done and i love it!

Tonight we are going out to dinner with Ashu and his family, lovely people who live down the road from us and who we have become great friends with.

thanks to everyone who has sent things - replies all written i just have to find time to post them its never open!!!

the school bus that drove us here drove half an hour with a punctured tyre and we all had to sit on one side to shift the wieght - it was hilarious! Also the other day i mentioned i could drive and without warning the van stopped and i was asked if i would like to drive to town - i looked round at the huge chasm that we were driving beside and the 18 people behind me - mainly children and said no......😊

anyway must go but love to all hope everyone's well etc... love xxxxxxxx
