Day 17 - Ooty

Can't believe it's the end of September already! Felt really sick after going to bed last night but managed to fall asleep. Struggled with my scrambled eggs but did better with apple pancake. Sarah and Natalie also feeling a bit ill and Susan has had a cold for a while but seems a bit better. Sarah really not good so had a lie down while Natalie and myself went for a swim. Bit cooler this time since earlier in the day but really nice. Chatted to one of the guys we'd been speaking to in the bar last night - him and his friend were staying in one of the tree houses which look great and must have stunning views.

After the swim I packed up and we were back on the mini bus heading up the mountains to Ooty. Much to Sarah's horror this drive included 36 hairpin bends, which we counted down as we went. When we arrived there seemed to be some problem with the reservation so we sat around for a while in the reception area. There was a school trip checking out (thank god they were leaving - didn't fancy being next door to a school trip) so they were carrying on and one guy in particular took a shine to Sarah. Their teachers appeared too and after pictures were taken they were on their way and we got our rooms.

We went for lunch in the Sidewalk Cafe and really enjoyed pizza and chips. We could have gone to the botanical gardens or a thread garden (yep, everything made of threat) but decided not to bother. Sarah went for a lie down again while Natalie and myself went to the internet cafe. Had our pictures put onto a CD over lunch so tried to put some up on Bebo but very slow so only got a few done. Got some chocolate which Ooty is famed for then some snacks and things and went back to chill at the hotel, including a short nap. Later we had a nice dinner but Susan wasn't well so didn't come and Sarah didn't manage much. Afterwards we went back and got an early night.

General thoughts for the day

*Ooty is nice and cool - will be a cosy night
*happy to be in one place for two nights
*yummy chocolate
*sad Sarah doesn't fell good
