Heading North to Rajasthan - Udaipur

We took a train north to Udaipur via Ahmedabad, Gujurat. We arrived early in the morning in Udaipur and headed to Lal Ghat where we found a guest house - and the only place in town with a swimming pool, which might have been refreshing had there been water in it. The place was cute and kitschy and had wonderful views overlooking Lake Pichola.

We took a tour of city palace, headed up to Monsoon palace, took a boat tour to Jagmandir Island and did a bit of shopping. It was a cute, quiet peaceful town, very geared to Western tourists. One evening we went to see a show of traditional Rajasthani dance. It was a very peaceful, low stress place...
