Kingfisher on a rock
Ranthambhore National Park Didn't sleep as well last night which was disappointing. Also sad to get up early again. Left at 7.45am and went to an animal shelter. Was nice to see the animals get some help and were some really cute puppies. Gave a donation then headed to Ranthambhore across a road that seemed to get bumpier and bumpier and was really hot in the vehicle - Sarah moved up front as she wasn't feeling too well.
Toilet stop was side of the road by some not so thick bushes but really just got out of sight o cars then didn't care much. Got here and got our rooms which are nice and it would be a lovely place if it weren't for all the children - must be a school trip. The grounds are nice and it has a pool and a bench swing which we quickly made use of.
Had an okay buffet lunch then had an hour until safari. Wold have gone for swim but bit tired, just eaten, plus kids bit off putting, so lay down for a bit. Were trying to be hopeful for seeing a tiger and told guy in shop if we saw one
Samba Deer
Ranthambhore National Park we'd buy a tiger t-shirt. Sadly we did not see any tigers in the end. Despite the driver saying there were cubs spotted for the first time the previous evening with their mother and again this morning. But no luck 😞 just lots of monkeys and a few Samba Deer. An extremely bumpy ride on a very narrow road for a 20 seater jeep type vehicle - lots of branches hitting people at the sides. Sarah had to put on my sunglasses as protection goggles. Had quite a nice dinner, decided to leave at 9 tomorrow so thats an extra hour in bed more than usual 😊 I do like my sleep. Got another 4 hour extra bumpy journey in local jeeps though.
General thoughts for the day
- disappointing not seeing a tiger
- hope kids aren't too noisy
