Just passing by when I saw people waiting for this temple to open up
June 5th - We arrived at our hotel which is considered to be the best place in town but that's not saying much... food was horrible and their pool is not a pool but a pigeon fountain, totally gross! No internet access here and nothing else to do right now but to ride camels here.

All devout Hindus try to make at least one pilgrimage to Pushkar and bathe at the holy ghats to wash away their sins, thereby earning themselves a place in heaven. The only problem is... the monsoon season did not begin yet in this area so the lake is all dried up. Just a bit of information... in order to walk around this area or take any pictures, you will need a "Pushkar passport" or be blessed by Brahmin priests. We were immediately met by people who claimed to be priests (I only say this bc they weren't wearing the tradional priest outfit) and made us recite something in English but we couldn't understand what they were saying, so we basically don't know if we cursed in another

language but what we said was, mutha... brig... something... hubba... bubba... give me grubba... is basically what I said. Afterwards, they made us touch the "holy water" which was essentially dirty bath water. People and some animals were in there all bathing and they wanted us to touch it. This place was so disappointing, I hope Varanashi is better.
