Our final stop in India took us to the capital which is very much split between Old Delhi and New Delhi.
In Old Delhi we visited our second Mogul Fort in a week and the largest mosque in Asia (the courtyard has room for 20,000 worshippers)
In New Delhi we walked through the parks and saw some upcoming cricketers practising how to beat England, before looking at the government buildings and presidents palace.
However the highlight of the attractions was the Ghandi musuem. This was built around where Ghandi spent the last 144 days of his life and where he was shot whilst on the way to evening prayers. This was an extremely well thought out, interactive and moving museum and tribute to an incredible man.
Delhi, like much of India is dirty, overcrowded and polluted. Whilst we were there the smog was so bad you couldn't see the buildings at the end of the street. However we have really enjoyed our time here. You begin to see through the dirt (Kim & Aggie should do a How Clean is your Country - Dan here is a TV special idea for you!) and appreciate the rich culture
Delhi
Red Fort and friendly people which make it such a fascinating country to visit. Its such an interesting place as it attempts to maintain its traditional roots whilst at the same time really trying to be a modern country and all the problems that this brings with it.
A month clearly isn't long enough and having been put off visiting before, we now can't wait for our next trip to India.
