Bishnoi House
Adobe house of the Bishnoi people ... other villages paint their huts with white paintings edging the doorways ... all have their own decorative expression.The first thing you notice about india that's different is (a) the driving, and (b) cows on the road.
Driving: rules are made to be broken, and if there's not enough money to enforce the rules, then why not break them? Amazingly, i haven't seen an accident yet! ... except in Pushkar where a motor scooter ran over a lady's toes.
And i've been told that cows love to sit in the middle of the road or on the median strip because it's cooler there ... how smart is that? All those passing cars generating a nice breeze!
So until a few days ago, i was just in a few places in Rajasthan, namely Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Sam, Jamba, Pushkar, and Jaipur, then Delhi and Agra. Also flew over to Kathmandu for 3 days. And on the way back home, we stopped in the UAE, visiting Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and Bahrain (a small island country also in the Persian Gulf).
It's hard to write a blog after the fact, but i will conclude the short version by saying that the most interesting thing i saw was in the Thar Desert, the semi-nomadic Bishenois people, who i never

Little girl with baby goat knew existed, and who have almost nothing but the clothes on their back, their animals, and their adobe mud huts with thatched rooves ... yet they were the happiest people i saw in all of my travels.
