Jaipur - October 07

When we got to Jaipur we were tired and therefore opted for the lazy option of hiring a rickshaw for the day to whizz us around the main sights such as the Amber Fort , Royal Gaitor and the Tiger Fort. See the pictures below. By this time we were a little bit tired of forts ( it was the 5th and 6th we had seen in 4 days ! )

They were all good but my favourite parts of the day came when our driver chose to take us on little detours. The first one was to his home to meet his family, they were all very kind and welcoming even though they spoke very little English and us even less Hindi ! His sister made us a nice cup of chai ( tea ) , by this time around 15 of the local kids all gathered round to stare at the strange foreigners !

Our next detour was to meet the drivers 'guru' who happened to own a jewellry store ......hmmmmmm
I loved meeting the Guru, his speciality was healing through 'gem stone therapy' which i found fascinating ! Cabbie wasn't so impressed especially when the Guru read his 'aura' and discovered that his 3rd eye was blocked ! His face was a picture. To heal him we needed to purchase a pricey gem stone necklace, this wasn't purchased so unfortunately Cabbie's 3rd eye remains blocked !
