Bats in the Underground TempleBats in the Underground TempleBats in the Underground Temple

The title basically says it all.
Samir's article. Way back when, back when we were in Hampi, we went to the ruins that lay behind the city with the same tour guide as before. We saw the Queen's bath, temple ruins, palace ruins and an underground temple. The underground temple had a small lake in the middle, water snakes and thousands of hanging bats. Though we saw no water snakes, we did see the bats coming and going through the windows. We also saw ENORMOUS statues of gods with lion heads and elephant heads. A night or two later, all of us kids were really sick, as in 😱😞😱 kind of sick. Even though we were still recovering from the flu, we took another 10 hour train ride west to Goa, which is where we came from, only in a place called Panjim. Most of the time we spent there we were feeling sick, but when we felt good enough to walk, we drove around a place called Old Goa. The day after was March 4, which is a holiday in India called Holi. Holi started because some king burnt his kids, and then a god killed a demon which exploded in a lot of colour. Basically,

OOOOoooooOOOOOooooo!!!!! Eerie
in Holi, you go around pouring powder on people, but there were a lot less people celebrating it than we thought would be, so we just threw powder at each other. After much lazing and couch potatoing, we took yet another train to Mumbai/Bombay, where we found a Mcdonalds very much like the ones at home, only it had no beef, better ice cream and a "McCurry". Will write once we take a 20 hour train ride to Rajistan, and much grief will be expressed. 😞
