Currently on Day 5 in Hong Kong. Past few days have been a blur, rushing from one tourist spot to another, so let me just recap quickly (might be mispellings):

6/10 - depart from Washington DC. Everything went smoothly. Watched 3 AWFUL movies -- Paul Blart, Confessions of a Shopaholic and Last Chance HArvey. Finally, arrival in Hong Kong.

6/11 - transport to our hotel in Yau Ma Tei. The room is the size of my thumb, but it's very clean. Maybe all living spaces in Hong Kong are this small. Spent the evening walking around the outdoor markets and Nathan Rd. First impressions - Cramped, dirty, lots and lots of people.

6/12 - jet lag kicking me in the butt, so Iwoke up at 7am. went to Victoria Peak. first time taking public transportation and it's SO NICE - clean and fast. In the afternoon, went to LanTau via Ferry. Visited the giant buddah in Ngang Ping. Spent evening in Tsian Jia Tsui.

6/13 - went to Macau for the day. Gorgeous remnants of Portugese settlments. Spent afternoon in casinos playing the 0.02 slots. Ended up losing 10 out of 20HK$. Mom says this means I'm lucky (??)came back and slept 6pm-6am.

6/14 - went to Hong Kong botanical gardens --> Causeway (time square) --> shopped for a while. Had Dim Sum at City HAll. Was exhausted so slept. Went to Lady's Market and Temple MArket in the evening.

6/15 - Currently at Stanley Market. About to go to Aberdeen and Ocean Park. Tonight -- shopping on Hong Kong Island by Central.

6/16 - train to Shenzhen, China!
