Hong Kong is the most non-chinese city we've been to in China and actually some would even argue that Hong Kong doesn't even belong to China, but those people are wrong.

In 1997 the island was handed over to China from Britain and has since then been a autonome area within the peoples republic of China, with their own currency, government and some other stuff. This is why Hong Kong is so different from the other chinese cities.

When we arrived after a very exhausting boardercontrol, the first thing we noticed was the amount of foreigners. We learned afterwards that the place we stayed at were apparantly a cauldron of cultures. It was estimated that 120 different nationalities occupied the building, and the hotel we stayed at were filled with people from Ghana. So that was kind of a shock after coming from a country where the only foreigners are tourists. But after having settled we had time to enjoy the city.

Hong Kong is a metropolis next to nothing I've seen. Apart from all the nationalities, there is buildings rising hundreds of meters above you and small streets filled with cars and buses. You can buy

The part of Hong Kong you don't get to see
food from all over the world right next to macdonalds and KFC. There are clear evidence of the impact britishs rulers have had on the city, from the left-sided roads to the widely spoken english. In the evening a magnificent show, "the symphony of light", could be seen from the riverbank. On the other bank was the centrum of Hong Kong, with all the tallest buildings, reaching up to 420 meters. At 8 o' clock the music began and light from the skyscrabers whirled in between each other to create a incredible show. It was nice to just sit back and enjoy the show on the railing facing the water.

Having only three days in Hong Kong we hurried to Ocean Park next day. Ocean Park is propably like Sea World, I've never been there so I can't say, but the names sounds kinda similar. In Ocean Park there were some amusing rollercoasters, one of them with loops, so we took them a couple of times. Alexander got to see some impressive fish and sharks (I know that sharks are fish as well, but they're just so much cooler than all the other fish).
Apart from that we saw

We're not sure, but it was definitely living
a dolphin and sea lion show, also pretty nice. Apart from that not much is to say about our trip in Hong Kong, pictures will maybe come next time, who knows
