Pearl Tower
The trademark of Shanghai All good things must come to an end.
Even us mortals that through china went
Seen things, great as small
And even climped a certain wall
I just recalled I hated poetry in school, so lets go back to good old genuine writing.
It has now been 2 months, thousands of kilometers, we've meet people from all over the world and seen things that could have been taken straight from a fairy tale. Mountains majestickly covered in clouds, the raging rivers, the cities of millions and always the unbelivable kindness and joy the chinese people has presented us with. Even though, there has been some rather annoying guys. We've seen a lot, although it would take years to explore the entity of China.
Currently we're living in an appartment in Shanghai. The last two weeks has been relaxing, expect for a quick tour to two nearby cities. Hangzhou and Suzhou respectively.
There is a chinese saying that:
In heaven there is paradise
on earth there is Hangzhou and Suzhou.
Sounds pretty cool, but it turned out that those two cities weren't exactly pretty, quite the opposite actually.
Hangzhou is mostly famous for its west lake, a
Nightime
The view from our appartment big lake surrounded by forests and hills, in the central part of the city. It is really beautiful, but apart from that the city hadn't much to offer, so after having spent 1 day there, we ventured further to Suzhou, famous for its gardens. The gardens were definitely beautiful and we spend two days there, but again the city hadn't much else to offer, and quite frankly the whole central area looked more like communistic concretebuildings.
In shanghai we mostly just did the most basic things, we even't went to the zoo (which suprisingly had a pretty big collection of dogs and even worse, some chinese found it entertaining to throw stuff after the animals to wake them up) and the aquarium, which was awesome, although expensive.
There has happened a lot of small things here in Shanghai, and all in all, the metropolitan city has, despite its enourmous population and hectic lifestyle, been relaxing, and propably the closest we've been to being tourists and not backpackers.
So this is goodbye from us, see you in Denmark or wherever.
Sincerly Alexander and Benjamin
