What are they?

Trams
They rattle and roll up and down Hong Kong Island main street. Pay your $2 as you get off and enjoy.

May Day
A public holiday and 1000s of people seemed to think camping out on walkways or pavements with friends/family in cardboard boxes was a good day out.

Very atmospheric , and even better when the music and fireworks started at 8pm.
