Hong Kong is a city of high rises and water. We did a lot of walking because our hotel was near the water. The Star Ferry ride from Kowloon to Hong Kong Island was worth several trips at the cost of 1.4 Hong Kong Dollars (or about 25 cents Canadian). We went back and forth several times and enjoyed the trips. When on Hong Kong Island, we found the escalator which goes up the hillside a long way. We found that Soho had some very interesting restaurants.
The weather in late October is warm and pleasant.
Another thing we did was a city tour which took about 4 hours and showed us a lot of Hong Kong which we wouldn't have discovered on our own. (cost about 280 Hong Kong dollars). We visited Victoria Peak, the harbour (by boat), a market, and a jewellry factory.
The other thing I really enjoyed was a walking visit to Kowloon Park which is not far from the waterfront. We spent several hours walking around this most pleasant park, far from the maddng crowds.
