Last Mar.23, me with my sister, Dianne, her sister-in-law Paula and my cousin Tin, boarded Cebu Pacific flight 5J3622 and landed on Macau International Airport at around 9:30PM and was met by Tin's friend Marilyn who was absolutely helpful on providing us a room for our duration of stay in Macau. We were absolutely tired from our flight and we were able to take a rest and sleep at about 1AM. Early in the morning on Mar.24 we headed for Hongkong via ferry at Macau Ferry Terminal.
1ST DAY - Marilyn told us to board a bus going to ferry terminal but we didn't understood that the terminal was located after an overpass or a bridge so we got lost and had to walk very far in order to reach the ferry terminal. So after we arrived at the terminal, we didn't know were to get the tickets and had to asked a chinese lady to help us which she did! She got us tickets on Turbojet for HK$155 each, it was a holiday fare coz we learned that Mar.24 was a holiday on Macau that time. After an 1hour or so we arrived finally at Hongkong!
After arriving
Avenue of Stars
me and Dianne waiting for the Symphony of Lights at the China ferry terminal we got lost again and had to asked a guard on how to get to Nathan Road coz that's where our hostel is located. That guard told us to walk on a bridge and that's where we could find Nathan Road. But it turned out that we walked the wrong way and we found out that we were on Central MTR station already! That means we have to get back again to where we came from which was Tsim Sha Tsui! So we bought our octopus card for HK$200(HK$100 load + HK$50 added value, the extra HK$50 is refundable once you decided to return the octopus card). We boarded the MTR train headed to Tsim Sha Tsui station. We finally arrived at Traveller's Friendship Hostel at Mirador Mansion at about 12NN and that's where we found RJ(Dianne's husband) waiting for us! RJ is working on a ship which docked at HK that day that's why Dianne and Rj decided to meet at HK. We paid almost HK$800 for a 2 double bed room with private toilet(coz we're 4). We took a rest on our room then decided to eat our long overdue lunch at 2PM.
After walking back and forth at Tsim Sha Tsui area and trying to find a good resto to eat we settled at Pizza Hut. i can't remember the name of what we ordered, it was a rice covered in tomato sauce with red bell peppers and onions and on top of it is a porkchop. It was really delicious! I also liked the iced tea they served us. After that we headed to Central station to get to The Peak.
Getting to the peak, well as always we got lost again! A nice lady gave the right directions going to the peak which we later found out to be the peak tram terminus. It's the the quickest and most scenic way to arrive there. when we arrived at the peak there was really nothing to do except to view the tall buildings in HK. After taking some pictures and less than an hour we took the peak tram again to went back at Central. I want to try to board the Star Ferry so we took bus no.15C to get to Star Ferry Terminal and it was the perfect time coz it's already night time and that means
we get to see the beautiful lights coming from the buildings in HK. It was only 10 minutes I think and we were already in Tsim Sha Tsui. We ate our dinner first before heading to Ave. of stars to catch the Symphony of Lights. At 8PM the Symphony of Lights started and it was really breathtaking! I haven't seen anything as beautiful as that!
After that we headed to Ladies Market at Mongkok to buy souvenirs. Well some are really expensive but we were able to find some cheap stuffs like keychains, chopsticks, bags. I guess you will really need to bargain a lot from the chinese sellers in order to make the most of your dollar. After those tiresome day we got back to our room and RJ also returned to his ship and that ends our first day in Hongkong!
2ND DAY - On our second day in HK we headed to Tung Chung station at MTR which was very far. We rode a cable car going to Ngong Ping village which locates the Giant Buddha. It was slightly raining when we were at the cable car. After 20 mins. we arrived at Ngong Ping
and walked towards the Giant Buddha. Well all I can say is that it was really a giant! I was mesmerized by the sight of it I can't believe I finally saw it! Anyway I was able to buy myself a pair of shoes at Ngong Ping which I absoultely loved! The price is HK$140 and I think it was worth it. After some picture taking there we headed for Disneyland.
From Tung Chung station we got off at Sunny Bay station to get to Disney. After Sunny Bay you could see that the trains were already different and you could see the first signs of Mickey! It was all over the place at the trains, from mickey mouse head shapes to the hand rails, it was really cute! After arriving at the station we paid HK$295 for the entrance and off we go! I must say that I really did not enjoy Disney that much coz first, my right foot hurt so bad and that there were so many people on Disney that time. I mean you have to fall in line and wait like an hour or more to get to the rides and we really don't
Ngong Ping Cable Car
going to and from Ngong Ping Village have much patience on that. But what I really enjoyed are the Disney on Parade and the Golden Mickey show! If you would go to Disneyland HK make sure you won't miss this two! We got back to the hostel at around 7:30PM and we were all tired that we were not able to go to Temple Street market at Jordan according to our itinerary.
3RD DAY - On our third and last day at Hongkong we went at Causeway Bay. But we first check out at our hostel at 11AM but we left our bags at the hostel coz it was very heavy. Amy the ever dependable housekeeper on the hostel(which incidentally is also Filipina) was the one who suggested to leave our bags there and just get it on our return to board a ferry going back to Macau. On Causeway Bay there were really nothing to see, we just took some pics on Victoria Park and strolled Sogo Dept. Store. We returned to the hostel to get our bags and proceeded to the China Ferry Terminal, which we walked that far(we didn't know it was that far) to get to Macau. We officially left Hongkong at
around 3PM via New World First Ferry(the fare was HK$122).
