We had big plans for today with lots of ground to cover so set out early this morning. Our first destination was the wet markets in North Point where there are vendors selling produce and fresh fish. The name comes from the fact that food , fish and meat are sold here and so the floor constantly needs to be washed down hence, wet. It's always interesting to see the many varieties of fish and sea creatures both dead and swimming around live in tubs of water waiting to be chosen by one of the many shoppers. We also stopped at some of the produce stalls and viewed the normal fruits and vegetables but also saw a few unfamiliar items but the vendor did not speak English so could not tell us what they were, just that they were very sweet.
We made our way to the Causeway Bay Area to explore it's streets, sights and offerings. It's an up market area with expensive real estate and exclusive luxury stores. Mixed in among it's shopping stores we found Jardine's Crescent which was a bustling street market with vendors again selling a variety of goods such as clothes, toys, jewelry,
and trinkets. The street dates back to about 1845 and the thriving trade on this street has been going strong since then. The items can be bargained for and the prices aren't that high to begin with. The locals come to do their shopping here as well as the tourists so the street can be very busy. So in this area you can find exclusive high end luxury stores to flea markets and everything in between. Among the stores is a Japanese department store called Sogo with thirteen floors of shopping.
It was time for a mid morning treat. Each of the neighborhoods we visit have bakeries offering many delicious looking bakes goods. We each chose a flaky pastry, one with apple and another with strawberry which were as good as they looked. It gave us the energy to move on.
We then walked to Victoria Park. It offered tennis courts, a bandstand, a jogging path, a fountain plaza, and spots to sit and enjoy the outdoors and greenery. It was a beautiful day to spend some time here with the sun shining brightly and warm temperatures.
Next we moved on to Victoria Peak Which is a mountain on the
main island of Hong Kong. It's the island's highest peak. The main attraction of the island is the view it provides of the slopes and the city below. We took a 126 year old tram to the top of the mountain. The trams first journey was in 1888. The peak tower holds restaurants, stores, places of entertainment and viewing platforms. The slopes of the peak can be explored by following nature trails through vegetation and landscaped gardens.
We made a few observations today. The style of dress here appears to be more casual than in Japan. You don't see all the men in white shirts and black suits. From the peak we noticed the large number of sky scrapers this city has. While traveling on the subway we observed that almost every one was on a device of some kind even the kids!
It was a very full day which ended with a delicious dinner of vegetable fried rice with shrimp and rice with beef, chicken and broccoli. A perfect way to end the day!

Fabulous photos. I especially like the good healing shrine pix. One could sit and contemplate there for quite a while.
