We awoke today, Wednesday still feeling totally full from last nights dinner, we had a lazy start where we took our time in getting showered and dressed, casually headed to Windjammer for breakfast, again a huge variety of food, you would never be able to eat one of everything, coffee, tea, juices also are in abundance. Once we finished our breakfast, we walked out to the pool deck, where the weather really had a change, today was grey skies and the sea had turned rough, we then went to deck 12 only to be blown away from the really strong wind, we then went to deck 14 and sat and watched people on the pool deck with the waves of the pool splashing about. It's only going to get cooler from here so we left the Ellington Bar, went out again to the rear of deck 14, to be blown away again. We meandered down the stairs still discovering some places we hadn't seen yet. We went at 10.30am to a lecture on Xiamen which we visit on Friday, this seems like a nice place and we are going on a tour here. We then went back and got
changed into our bathers, the swimming pool has now become a wave pool and Clint couldn't resist!! We got some drinks, sat near the pool and watched the waves come up and over the edge of the pool, the boat was rocking and rolling and so was the pool, Clint went in and had some fun, he's like a big kid, and went up and down with the waves. Lunch today was a hot dog on the pool deck, was a bit plain, we got talking again to Cheryl about Hong Kong and we talked her into going offshore tonight in Hong Kong !!. We left so we could attend The Royal Caribbean story showing on deck 3, a very interesting story. After this we wandered back through the ship, via the bar!! We had a real lazy day, but seemed to still do lots, we walked the stairs wherever we could which sometimes was hard especially after a meal!!
We went to Deck 3 at about 4.15pm (show started at 5pm) to line up for the Iceskating show, and more than half the other passengers had the same idea, but we still managed to get a good seat. This
show was fantastic , lots of ice skaters with so much to watch all at the same time. The show went for about an hour, definitely worth the wait to see this show.
We went back to our room, got changed the headed to a The Sound of Music dining room to eat again, this is something that has been happening far too often lately!! We then had about an hour or so to rest before the lights of Hong Kong came into sight, a spectacular sight that happened all of a sudden, apartment blocks everywhere and all lit up. It wasn't long until we were right in the harbour, we sailed around the back of the Hong Kong Island and the cruise terminal is now at New Kai Tak, which is originally where the old airport was. We had to wait for customs to clear the ship before anyone was allowed off, so about 10.30pm, we got the clearance to leave. We jumped on a bus and headed to Diamond Hill, no idea where that was but we thought from there, we could get a taxi or train from there to Nathan Road. When we got to the destination,
the bus driver knew no English, so he basically showed us the door, but when we looked at the shops, (and by now it was after 11.15pm), we got off the bus and luckily found someone from our group that spoke Chinese, and she led us to the MTR and helped us buy tickets and we all travelled together to the last stop on Nathan Road, then we went to Temple Street Market where there was still lots of eating places open, but wasn't many stalls open. Clint managed to buy something, after doing his battering!! (And still getting ripped off!!!). Back to the ship by Taxi at 1:30am
