We awoke just after 6am, after sue going to bed at 2.45am, trying to get free wifi at the Port, and with the Internet cutting out all the time, this became really frustrating. The Travelpod App on my phone crashed on Monday after writing 2days of entries and adding about 60 photos, the app just wouldn't open, I tried emailing to get Travelpod help, but was sure what I had done for those 2 entries was going to be lost, but won't know until we get a reply.
We had breakfast then joined the line up for the bus into Diamond Hill, and then to catch the train, this time to Hong Kong Harbour to see the Avenue of Stars. The view here is stunning, Hong Kong Island and Victoria Peak in full view, but soon the fog came in so we were lucky to see it with no fog. We walked back towards Nathan Road, and instead of catching the train, we walked right up to Mong Kok which is quite a distance. Once in that area, we went into the back streets where there were markets and some shops still didn't open until noon. We did a
bit of shopping then found an Apple reseller, went in there for help for the Travelpod, but like I thought, we deleted the App, then reinstalled it and this time it opened, all stories there minus the 2 entries that I thought were going to be gone. Very frustrating. While we were there, they connected us to their wifi, this was so fast, and we were able to check emails, facebook and Messenger and be able to chat with Nikki which was good as we haven't had this since Singapore. We had to keep an eye on the time, so we went to buy some Dim Sum Dumplings with noodles and found a really busy shop, which is a good sign, 70 HKD for both meals (about $14) and we stopped at a corner to eat them, but boiling hot and we decided we would wait until we got back before we had them, we were running out of time. Last few shops, spent some money, then got a taxi back to the Cruise Terminal (90 HKD). We still had time before boarding so we ate our Dim Sums and they were still really hot after all this time, did
our last bit of wifi, then we had to join the really long queue. We got back through Customs, then back onto the ship, and in not sure why but straight to the bar!!
We had to be back inboard by 3.30pm and we made it on time, and went back to the room for some relaxing time, ( like about 10 minutes!!) it was time to depart Hong Kong so we were up on deck 12 for our departure, met up with Margo and Malcolm who are from Manly in Sydney, took lots of photos, then headed inside because it was getting really cold. Only way to warm up is with a glass of red wine, maybe we had about 3, this is what happens when you meet up with Aussies!! There were 490 Australians inboard this trip, and most of them were found at the bars around the ship!
Now it was time for dinner, we again went to the Windjammer as this casual dining has such a huge variety. We didn't need to eat, but, well.... No excuse, we did and rolled out the door!!
After dinner, we went and watched a Production Show called "Centre Stage" with singing and
dancing. A glass of wine to take back to our room, and not long after, bed!!!
