Travel in Tibet is challenging, in that once you get out of Lhasa you need permits galore to get almost anywhere... a nice way of forcing all the foreigners onto expensive land cruiser tours where the pain of getting permits is taken away... either that or you hitch and dodge the checkpoints, which isn't really my thing. Woman who sold me the prayer flags...

5 kwai, 5 kwai... being ambushed by the prayer flag woman who wanted to be in my photo... for a small fee of course!

Back on the road...

Another photo stop!! As we rounded each bend the views just got better... this was our first clear view of Everest...if you look really hard you can just about see it in the back ground ;0)

... up until then it had been shrouded in cloud and we didn't know if the views would get better..

Villages at the bottom of the pass... this was about all the green we saw in the area, thanks to some cunning irrigation from a nearby river.

The village where we stopped for lunch....

Even the horses get a lunch break....
