So after saying goodbye to a great two day with Ivo in Yangshou. I caught the taxi to the airport early morning ( i don't know why i chose to travel so early in the morning...im on holiday for god sake GIRL!!!).
I dont know what it is with these Chinese men they have this disgusting habit with making this fleming noise and spitting, it is sooooo disgusting!!!...i had to put up with it for the whole 1 1/2 journey.
Arriving in Xian, i must admit i was surprise with how developed and modernised it was, full of fancy department stores and designer shops. Everyone dress so western i felt so under-dressed walking around with my Ruck-sack(actually i feel like that back home too so nothing new). It was tipping it down when i arrived so there i was wondering the streets of Xian trying to make my way to the Hostel which was very lovely. A lovely traditional style house and with very friendly staff.
After passing out as soon as i checked (shattered from getting up so early and travelling all morning) i woke up and it was still pouring it down with rain and it
didn't look like it was gonna stop 😞
I was recommended to go try the kebabs and the muslim quarter and nothing is going to get between me and my food!!!!... I must have been still fast asleep as it couldn't seem to find and got a little lost...It was so straight forward where it was. WHAT TO DO!!...I found it finally and it was sure worth it especially with a nice cold beer. 😊
It was lovely strolling through the narrow alleyways with spells of fresh kebabs being cooked and they had these big hot plates with what seemed like tasty potatoes but in fact is some kind of other vegetable that was all goooie...I didn't try it, was hungry and played safe.
The Terracotta Warriors.. I was happy to meet two other English travellers who suggested that i can get student discount by simply showing my driving licence.. save myself 50% off...thats was a meal..yummy!!!!...and naughty too i know 😞
My highlight in China was Definitely Beijing, The Summer Palace and of course the Great Wall of China. Trekking along this old ruin with such beautiful stunning scenery was simple breathtaking. We
was very lucky the weather wasnt too hot and it just started raining as we came too the end.
Meet a few Isrealis in Beijing.. (I think i would like to go to Isreal sometime in the future they are very lovely friendly people and some i must say are pretty good looking too 😊)
One had travelled through Mongolia by hitchhiking and had a few impressive stories to tell i must say. We got chatted to some local chinese who was sitting next to us..they spoke very little english but when it came to drinking theres only a few words you need...hehehe They was so sweet kept making us down our drinks and the girl wouldnt let her "Darling" as she kept calling him drink, saying he will fall asleep so she did all his share too. Must say she could handle her drinks. Very Impressed and they wouldnt let us pay for the bill, even when you try and sneakily do it.
Arriving to Shanghai after Beijing i must admit i wasnt to impressed, im not into shopping and there wasnt much to see apart from the Bund. Although Manuela &
Leon was in town so we decided to hook up, decided to go Karaoke (that was Ian's idea) was such a laugh especially after 2 bottles of whisky and beers.
These two left us travellers with a terrible hangover!!!!!!... I had to catch a flight to Japan the next day...hmmm thought i would miss it but i made it there ok just to find out my flight had been cancelled...GUTTED!!!!...was so looking forward to it too.
With only 150Yuan (thats less than 10 pounds) to last another whole day before my reschedule flight, i headed back to my youth hostel to find out there's no room left so i had to stay on the sofa in the lounge area. The joy of travelling hey...actually it turned out ok some korean girl let me share here double bed instead (in a real fancy private room at the hostel) I was so surprise they had rooms like that.
POOR David (that's the blond long hair one in the photo) he was walking around the youth hostel like a Zombie for the next 2 day and actually missed his Train (it was 2 days after our night out!!!)...he
kept blaming me for it 😞
I blame LEON!!!!!...Grrrrrrr
Well we ended up having to keep each other company for the last day...Playing pool and watching movies all day(we watched Hostel at the Hostel) ...Hmmmm...hehehe it was CRAP!!!!!...
I hope my Flight is not cancelled tomo.
