This weekend was one of the best times I have had in China thus far. I am halfway done with this study abroad journey, and what better way to mark the halfway point then to climb a mountain. At this point 11 of us diverted from the group to spend an extra night on the mountain and climb to the top. We hiked a total of 18 kilometers the first day. Stairs the whole way, and snowy/icy stairs near where we slept.

He spoke some English, and hiked by us to the top of the mountain.

Once we reached this point, there were hardly any tourists, so some of the guys stripped of their shirts, while we ladies hiked in our tank tops until we reached snow.

What a trip! You took splendid pictures. My heart is still racing after seeing the snow and cliffs. Glad you made it safe and sound. Loved that you fell asleep at 9:30:) Counting the days until I see you, Scoot!

How cool is that?
What an adventure. Dave wants to know how the hike could possibly be harder than hiking up the escarpment at the Bruce. There are stairs there, too, ya know. HA. I've been to the Great Wall and I know you haven't seen stairs until you've been to China. You have a great time with your Mom! Love, Teri (and Dave)
