Tourist train
This phsycadellic train runs under the river to Pudong On Tuesday Dad and Penny left us with Mum to explore Shanghai some more.

Today we went to the dodgy markets, if I could use one word to sum it up it’s dodgy very dodgy. In the dodgy markets there are illegal copies of DVDs there are copied Rolexes, Louis Vuitton and Ralph Lauren polo shirt. There are secret back rooms were they keep all the illegal stuff, one shop that we went to had all these cupboards hidden behind a bunch of ties’ and stuff. The thing that makes the dodgy markets so dodgy is the prices, no not prices you have to bargain to get a low price or you’ll be ripped off. Take an angry birds watch for example, the lady who sold to us tried to get 280 RMB but we still got it for 25 RMB. That translates to about $4. I bought a DVD that may well be dodgy - Chris bought an angry birds watch and mum bought about 50 hand-bags.
In the afternoon we walked up Nanjing Road, the main shopping road in Shanghai and we caught the tourist train under the bund at the
Pearl Tower
We found our way there, but there was no point going up into the clouds. The sign said visibility was zero. Pu River which divides the old Shanghai and the new Shanghai, which is called Pudong. In the old Shanghai there are lots of old French style buildings, known as the French Quarter where foreign people lived before the Cultural Revolution. In the new Shanghai there are so many tall buildings, like the Pearl Tower and the World Financial Centre (also called the bottle opener, because it has a square empty part at the very top). At 100 floors it is China’s tallest building and we walked up to it but did not go up because there too much smog we couldn’t see past the 50
th floor.
We had a big banquet full of baby eels, lotus root, meat of some description, a whole duck I mean a WHOLE whole duck, a fish that was brought to use
alive half an hour before we ate it, it came back with out its eye balls but everything else and two whole steamed crabs.

Today we went to the Double market to bargain for random things. The first thing I wanted to buy was a watch but I bargained it down from 70
A Dragon in the Garden
The rain does not stop the workers down to 25RMB but then we agreed the price but I walked away because I didn’t want to buy it anymore and she was very sad. I came back five minutes later and I bought the watch because I didn’t want her to be sad. And I also wanted the watch. The next thing I wanted to buy was a wallet, my Mum bought me a wallet as I only had 80RMB left. The wallet was really big and it had nine places to put your cards and three places to put your drivers licence and other stuff and three places to put your notes. When we were walking home I bought rolling skating wheels you can attach to your shoes but I couldn’t wear them because it was raining outside. When we got home at 8:00pm I went to the pool to go swimming. The pool was 25 metres long and 10 metres across and there was a spa and a gym which I wasn’t allowed to go into.
