CHRIS

On Monday we went sightseeing and bargaining. I bought a jade turtle and a dragon made of dead grass which took two hours to make. Dad's friend Penny who works with him showed us around Shanghai and we went on six trains which were crowded with people. Matt sat on a closed in water well and I took a picture but then all these girls came running to him and also took pictures of him. When we were in Shanghai Matt and I got a lot of strange looks.

At lunch time I had icecream and duck tongue. The duck tongue was chewy but it was quite nice. Then we went to a garden with lots of fish which were in huge fish tanks. That's all for today folks.

Yesterday we went to the markets it was ineresting to see what they had to sell. Chris got a small dragon made out of staw. At the markets there are little white plastic dolls that you draw your face on. There were also jade buddhas andd lots of other....interesting sutff. We went around the markets with our friend Penny, she showed us around and told us

I don't know why all these girls wanted to have a photo with Matt
about different things.

At lunch time we went to a Chinese restaurant and Dad and I had ducks tongue. It was chewy but tasted OK. We also had dumplings, a Chinese type of pasta which was round and flat and Chinese green vegetables Dessert was a sphere of fried dough covered with sesame seeds with black stuff in the middle. I didn't think it tasted that nice, even though I like dessert.

In the afternoon we went to some more markets and did some bargaining. Chris bargained for a jade turtle and I bought an unusual stone. We also saw how green tea is made - a man swirled fresh leaves in a large very hot wok and tossed them around until they dried out. Matt.
