The beautiful Hu family tea-house and tea-shop seen in the short distance is next to a canal and surrounded by this well-visited park. The stares from the locals let me know, that Western faces are not commonly seen here in this pretty town.

The wet-land areas surrounding the town of Zhou Zhuang is known for its herds of deer. They are represented in the town's park by these bronze representations. There are a number of these bronze sculptures scattered around the park.

In the center of Zhou Zhuang town stands this marble statue, also known as the Goddess of Fertility. It is frequented by the "newly-weds" of the town, who shower the statue with gifts. The hope for their "one child" is of prime concern to the couples. This wonderful gentleman is a local TV host, and he took great pains to introduce me to his town, and explain much of its history. What a wonderful day! Thank you!

An ancient Ginko-tree is the place of the town where I say good-bye to my wonderful hosts for this day. Their hospitality will always be appreciated and remembered.

One of our English students entertains the participants with music on a beautiful, ancient, Chinese instrument. The sounds looks are similar to the Zither, an instrument often played in the mountain villages of the European Alps. I wonder how this ancient instrument of China, thousand's of years old, made its way into the mountains of Germany and Austria??

One of my oral English classes posed in delight, as we conducted classes on our sports-field. It was a sure sign that spring was here to stay at TTC.

The greenest school campus in the city of Taizhou, the campus of Taizhou Teachers College, is also used by the local fire-department as a training center. Proudly on display along the main entrance of the college is one of their new fire-trucks.

Earthquake
Herr Schneider, I have been hearing and listening about the earthquake that has taken so many lives in China and at this moment remembered that you were still there. I wanted to know if you were well. I hope that you are and to hear from you soon. Best wishes, and hoping you are safe. Best wishes, Bruno

Herr Schneider, I admit, I have been lax in my attention, though not my memory of you over the years. It's been a long time, and I hope it isn't too late. These are trying times, especially in your current home, and I have a sneaking suspicion you would do what you are capable of to help alleviate the immense human suffering in China due to natural chance. I fear that might be risky. At any rate, I have no knowledge of your status now, and I hope you are well and safe, as are your friends and colleagues over there. If you are, and you are not consumed by work, I would be pleased to hear from you, both to alleviate my concern for your health and to catch up with you. I'll leave it at that for now; a reliable email address should be listed along with this. Your student, Joe
