It's summer holidays...I love to write this... for the 3rd time already on travelblog. This one is a little special. As
you may already know, we are re-locating to Bangkok this summer. I'll come back later about this.

School is over. Thursday 11.30 am it was time to say bye bye to SCIS and a great thanks to Mrs Schmidt for everything
she did for Leslie in 3rd Grade. I spent my afternoon running to make sure that everything was done before we left.
Thursday night was our last "Thursday night" at Abbey Road with our usual 30++ friends. For the last pics of Shanghai
and friends, you'll need to check my facebook later on.

This Friday, we have our lunch time flight to Guilin. I did not spend my time preparing this little stop. It was more...
let see when we get there. Arrived just in time to enjoy a gin tonic in the lounge and a terrace view for sunset...sadly
sunset was "behind" the hotel, so could not enjoyed it much.

The great and LONG day was this Saturday. First step, the river cruise on the Li River. Boat was ok, lunch was better
than expected...and view was AMAZING. it took us 4 hours of leisurly ride to reach Yangshuo. This is supposed to be
a cute little scenic and "backpacker" village. Well...we strolled the tourist trap for one hour. The aim was to find
a bicycle for Leslie...I mean to find the right size bicycle. After few attemps...jobs done!

This is when the fun part started. Nearly 4 hours on a bicycle. A first for Leslie. We had a "very basic" map and the aim
was to get lost in the countryside. I have no idea how many kilometers we did...must have been at least 20. Leslie
was happy, but completely dead by the end of it at 6pm. We say Moon Hill, crossed a bridge, ride along the Yulong River...
crossed a river on bamboos...because there was no bridge at the place...all this under a serious sun!

What a day...sad we missed the ballon flight...but I've learn that in life you need to make choices. Early diner before
making our way to the night show called Impressions. I was expecting a water and laser show...just to show you how
badly I did my researchs. But in fact, it was more like a big-production chinese opera. There must have involved at
least 500 people on stage....if you can call this a stage. A great show that I would advise all of you to see when in
Yangshuo. Thanks to Terry-Ann for pointing this in her travelblog few months ago..it was a great advise. And as she did,
I have to admit that my camera doesn't give justice to the scale of the place. But how can you make a nice night
pic of a stage more than few km squares??

After the show, try and managed to hunt a taxi to Guilin. Was not that easy at 10pm...but we made it.

This Sunday morning, another lunch flight, this time to Kuala Lumpur. I'm writting the blog in the plane, and will
upload the pics hopefully today.

Our next stop, wait few days, but this will be another asian landmark.

So from Ma'ri, Leslie and I, enjoy the pics, it's school holidays!

Five years and a half for me in Shanghai. 2 years and a half for Leslie and for Ma'ri, and we are moving la "maison
du bonheur" south to Bangkok.

This is something I've planed for years, and it is motivated by many different reasons. We will be on the road for the
next two months before reaching Bangkok. From August, a lot more blogs should be coming...as we've got so much to
discover around Thailand and the region.

And don't forget, Our doors will always be opened for our friends!

Hi Peter!
Glad to be reading your blog, and knowing you guys had a fun time. Sorry to miss you in shanghai, but I will most certainly be back to check out Guilin (nearer HK or Shenzhen , than Shanghai, right?) and watch the Impressions. What an awesome spectacle. Looking forward to your blogs on thailand, as i have only been to bangkok. Cheers!

Very apt
This couldn't have come up at a better time! I am leaving for China and will be in Guilin for a couple of days in the first week of July. Your article will come in handy. Any more tips are welcome. Great work. Prakash
