Still no internet cafés around...i might have to in vest in an I Pad for my next trip . The Android is serving me well for regular mail but much to small à Keyboard for the blog. Oh well...
Our Time in Shanghai want really well . It is hard to de scribe that city . Cosmopolitan , 21st Century , modern Chinese All fit but I think it is more. Yesterday was a must Pleasant day . We had gone to the Yu Gardens and were checking the guide book when a young woman approached us and ask ed if she could spend some Time with us practicing her English . She would walk with us and ex plain what we were see ing ...no money requRied (the iPad is think ing in French again) . She pick ed us up as the young Man had done when I was in Burma last Year! And it was gréât . I think spend @4hours together all of us learn ing a lot .
Today was Moving day . We took the fast train...305km/hour Shanghai to Beijing in just under 5 Hours. Truly amas ing given that it took an hour to get a cab and drive to the Hotel . No one else from the group has arrivée yet but that is okay . Tomorrow we plan to enjoué the warmer temps here and go to the summer palace .
Life IS good .

So great that you go a free tour guide.
You have sure lucked out with that. Good for you. We are sure you saw things a real tour guide would not point out. & you are not just looking AT things, but actually seeing them through a locals eyes. Super! We are still waiting for our van to be fixed. We are so glad to be here with the problem. We get to visit & wait at the same time. So much easier than being in a strange city without wheels. Oh, well, hopefully it will be fixed for real this time. The munchkins are great. Grandpa loves to tease them. They enjoy it too. The oldest 3 know their names very well. eg; Benjamin Roger Oscar Louis Laurence Fritz Norman Kaiser LaBelle Atherton. They love to show off that they can say all of them. Cute. Had a wine & cheese party with the oldies last night. Fun time. Have a good time. Warm up. love, R&C
