The Great Wall

Today we went to the Great Wall of China. We got up early and drove for about two hours then, we arrived. We did a bit of hiking and, when we reached the top, it was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. The mountains where amazing and the Great Wall was out of this world. We were the only ones on the wall - a part of it that had not been restored - it was amazing. The weather was very hot and I got a bit sun-burnt but, it was worth it. I also could not believe how long the wall was and I wanted to walk the whole thing but that would be impossible because it is so long and a lot of it is broken. One thing I can’t get my head around is how they were able to build it so long ago, with no machines and the only way they got the rock up there was by carrying it up. I can’t get my head around it. I still can’t believe I saw such an amazing thing and now I can tick it off my ‘Bucket List’.
