Guilt! I have had this feeling of guilt since arriving back from the wedding in Australia. Why? For various reasons, all of them trivial. Now before I go on to tell my story, let me start of by saying that guilt is a big thing in my family. We are all comfortably endowed with a guilty conscience about anything and anybody, it is in our genes. Returning to Guangzhou I had made all these plans, I ... Read Full Entry

Dude
Duuuuude... Duuuude.... You're being very unduuude... Don't feel guilty. Like you said, you're not going to go back to China for a very long time after this, so you might as well do China well.

ahhh, Chinese signs!
Haha, how we remember those signs translated from Chinese into 'Chinglish'. This is one of the best we have seen though, that is brilliant - tiny grass is dreaming!

Dreamy grass and guilt!
Maybe sometimes we should all be just like the dreamy grass! I certainly wish I could be more like that! As I have guilt as a genetic appendige, I always presumed it was my British half doing it, as as a nation the Brits do tend to feel guilty about everything! But now I am wondering if maybe it's a broader European thing! Something to ponder over! I, on the other hand must fly back to school, in my superhero costume! I am taking an extra 30 minutes and have decided that there will be no guilt about it, as ironically a certain Dutch friend was teaching me to do!

From personal experience
Life is short and guilt is over rated. Don't do it. Another great blog. Especially love the boat photos.

Traveller's Guilt
Indeed, there is nothing once can do about that guilty feeling except sit around with some fellow travellers and have a discussion about it in a hostel or expat bar. It normally takes two or three days of just drinking and talking about it to get over it. I think it is exasperated by the guys back home telling us how lucky we are to be away.
