We did the whirlwind tour through Cambodia ~ about 10 days which is par for the course for tourists mainly interested in Angkor Wat. My skirt was the coolest thing I could wear. It felt like a sauna much of the time! but somehow was not so bad.

This girl really startled me as I was on my way to a bathroom in Angkor. She was looking for donations. I was afraid of her at first. When I came out of bathroom I gave her some money and William got this photo. When I saw the photo I was amazed to see the sparkle in her eyes. We did not show her the photo like we normally do with people. It was an amazing moment.

near Angkor. This was a good museum! Here we learned a lot about the organization for a landmine free world, & what has been done to remove landmines in Cambodia and other countries.

As a child this man was a Khemer Rouge soldier in the 70's and planted many landmines. Later, he joined the Vietnamese to help free the Cambodians from the 'killing fields'. Since that time he has worked diligently to disable and remove landmines from Cambodia in order to help his native people.

A typical house in the large central valley farming area around Siem Reap and south. These ranged from very nice to small & run down looking. Looking at the houses there seemed to be a fair size "middle class", but the poor were VERY poor!

to visit the floating village. This river tributary was very shallow and muddy during this dry time of year. In the rainy season the lake and rivers flood the plain areas so all the houses are on stilts in this central area
