Had baguettes for brekkie, they seem to be some kind of delicacy here especially with laughing cow cheese spread! The bus station was manic and hot and the toilets were minging. Bus was ok and the air con worked which is a necessity here at the min. Read a bit on bus. Saw lots of cows, chickens, wooden shops and houses on stilts, rubbish, motorbikes, green fields, abandoned buildings, women in pj's.... At stop we had some corn on the cob which was delicious and went to the toilet in what seemed to be showers?! Started to rain part of the way there and we noticed that lots of the fields and muddy streets were flooded.

We were chuffed when we got off the bus as we hadn't booked into a GH but had one in mind and low and behold when we stepped off the bus first guy we saw was holding up a sign for them 😊 So free ride there. When we got to the GH they were having a NY's celebration (yes 4 days on and they're still celebrating!) and the guy said we could help ourselves to free beer. Our room has a fantastic view over the river and is huge- 2 double beds, ensuite and t.v. (though signal is very dodgey). Robby killed a big black cricket winged thing and I killed a mozzy and we settled in. Had tea at the GH restaurant right on the river front unfortunately the menu wasn't very big and so I went for Fish Amok and I shouldn't have as the sauce was bland and the fish had skin on and tasted like dirty dish water. Rob had chicken with ginger which had bones in. I ate the carrotts, potato and rice and snaffled a cereal bar when I got back 😉

We feel like we've moved in with a family here- had to walk through their living and dining room to get to ours and they're sleeping everywhere even on the balcony terrace!
