Sugar Palm
Moi having a Caipirinha :-) Rest day. Chilling by the pool all day. We decided to spend a day visiting places and a day relaxing on an alternate basis. After a long hard day at the swimming pool we felt the immense need to treat ourselves to a nice meal. After an intense search in the Lonely Planet book we took up their suggestion of the Sugar Palm restaurant. It was a bit out of the way to find it but man oh man was it worth the effort!! Starters: Khmer fish cakes and spring rolls (not the fish cakes from Tesco nor spring rolls from the local chinese) followed by fish Amok which took 40 minutes to cook. I had a Caipirinha and Mark Angkor beer. We found out that Gordon Ramsey had trained there, a bit pricey but the tastes were out of this world!!!!
Walked through the market and had a head&shoulder&foot massage for 40 minutes for 2 dollars :-) What a bliss!
Came back to our temple, had a few cans of beers with the hostel staff and met Phillipe from Paris who has a business in Phnom Penh and is looking for further adventures in India.
