What a day! Up at 5am to catch the 6.30 bus. An eventful trip was about to unfold. Firstly we nearly boarded the wrong bus. Once we sorted that out we cruised smoothly for about 3 hours. Then a strange smell, a dragging sound and some yelps from the rear seats alerted the driver to some kind of mechanical fault. There was confusion as to exactly what it was - either the exhaust fell off or chunks of tyre. Meanwhile we were all herded off the bus onto a front lawn/ field for the next hour or so. Some of the Brits struggled with the mid-day heat and I again felt grateful to be an Aussie with a built in cooling system. Mary (the lady who is travelling with Abi's Mum) suffered heat stroke (or something like that) and was out of action for the rest of the day. We somehow managed to arrive at 1.30 thanks to some lead footedness from our driver, checked into our hotel and enjoyed some television, air con and rest before some afternoon temple action. We were all hoping to enjoy a swim in our hotel's pool but as it is green we will have to abstain.

We headed to the temple ticket office at 4.45pm as they open for the afternoon crowd then. We were given the good advice to go at this time as you get in for free if you purchase a ticket for the next day. The tickets are expensive. 1 day is $20, a 3 day pass is $60. We purchased a one dayer and also had the afternoon free of charge. Anyway, our goal was to get some good sunset photos which I think we all managed to do. It was hard for me to get a sense of spirituality as the place was so jam packed with tourists. It was amazing though and I'm looking forward to seeing Angkor Wat tomorrow.'

So, it's off to bed for me as our pick up is at 5am so that we can see sunrise. This is somewhat cool for me because I will get to see the sunrise on my last day of being 27. I know- that sounds so daggy. Oh well, just accept it- you have a soppy geek as a friend! I will put my photos up when I get back to PP. Thanks for all the comments, and for putting your names at the end it makes such a difference. xoxo

Happy Birthday Chloe! hope your having a great day and the most interesting birthday ever..... dont suppose you made everyone dress in yellow, and wore a hand made yellow dress and ate donut cake today... or was that just reserved for 18ths! he he. Well spewing about the green pool, would have been nice to have a swim but hey, air con is a great substitute. Ok, got to get back to work. kirst. xx

OMG! That was such a fun night but I can't believe the yellow party was ten years ago. That dress totally rocked by the way. I am keeping it until I die. Loving your messages, thanks hun. Had a great day today. Just got back from a Khmer cooking class. The food was divine, we def won't need tea now which is great.. more room for cocktails! Chat later. x
