So it's nearly the end of week 2 of teaching, this week has flown by! Been settling into it more this week. In school we've been doing things in the classroom. The kids loved a word search!!! We've also had a couple of visitors (people who donate things to Krousar Thmey and come to visit) but they always seem to come at the worst times!

On Monday night we had a Cambodian BBQ (see photos) - there's a metal basin with coals in, and a grated lid on; you cook the meat around the top and the veg in some broth around the bottom. It was really tasty.

I've also put up a photo of the cheeky boy at stalls, at the request of Aunty Lynn - I think he calls himself Brad Pitt! At stalls you get noodles / rice with meat and vegetables - yellow noodles with beef is my favourite, although I have branched out and tried beef with pineapple (very very sweet, like lots of things here) and beef with tomatoes (mmmm). Also Aunty Lynn, they aren't all boys in my class, 3 out of the 16 are girls (phew)! They're very sweet, a little

This is the road at the end of the road that our house is on. It's really busy around 8am when I'm cycling to the library, with people stopping at roadside stalls
calmer than the boys!!!

I think I'm getting used to the climate here, I was worried it would be too hot for me but it's really nice right now. It's been really funny getting reports of the chaos that has been caused by the snow in the UK!!!! Hearing about people having bumps, offices being closed, seeing Maries photos - I just can't imagine it being cold enough to snow! Sounds like it's been a crazy week back home.

Tomorrow we're going to West Baraay, which is a large man made lake (made around 1000 years ago) where Cambodians go to swim. It's a 15 km cycle ride, so if you don't here from me for a while, I didn't make it back... :-)

New adventures
Well Matey, good to hear from you, you are getting very adventurous with your food. The swimming place sounds fun and the bike ride must get you nicely warmed up for a dip. I'm looking forward to the next installment already. love Daddy xXx

your work looks more fun than mine
Hiya. Finally got round to taking a look at your blog site - have to say i wished i hadnt now cause now i feel rather jealous. Im in munich - having just got away from the snow and cold of the UK - only to be replaced with snow, cold and gales in munich. I know where i would rather be right now (not sure i could do it without Barry tho - soppy i know) Looking at your bedroom in your photos, it looks a lot tidier than ems does at time lol, however not sure there would be enough space for all her clothes. You look like you are having a great time, and managing to experiance a side of life that some of us could never imagine. Take care, and have fun Michelle
