sore bum? Claire, you must have had a sore bum after all that time clinging to a rusty old moto, did you not think that sort of info was suitable for public consumption?
Enjoy the rest of the trip with the rest of the gang
Brilliant I've just read your latest installment Matey, absolutely fantastic. What an adventure. These people seem to have so little but they will share what they have with others, very humbling.
I'm sure there's more to tell but too much for the blog.
I like the I Heart Cambodia t-shirt! Can add that to your NY one and start a collection going :-)
Sounds like you're having a fantastic time, just missing mine and Chris' innate sense of direction...
sights Hi Claire, It all looks so interesting, wish I was there although it seems you have to be fairly fit! Peter's getting very excited, we'll see him this weekend but only briefly and then it's off for him. Take care
Love Bronwen x x x
dave = new glasses?! Sorry Dave, not as much as someone else we know that looks a lot like David Miliband!! ;-)
But I'm totally with you on the dog/rabies thing...I'm not going near any!!
Your Pet Dog "There's a pup that wonders into the front of our house ... "
Erm run away from it it's probably got Rabies
"we call him Rabies"
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Beetles!! Claire, eating squid is normal, we don't really need pictures of that ... BEETLES on the other hand ... you ... ate ... BEETLES!!! Very brave and / or insane!!!
He looks like David Milliband Don't you think he looks a bit like David Milliband? And very handsome too. If I was into Asian guys I'd definately consider his proposal!!
beetles!! Hi Clairey, can't believe you've eaten beetles. Were they crunchy? How lovely to play games with the children.Enjoy the rest of the week. Love mummyxxx
your work looks more fun than mine Hiya. Finally got round to taking a look at your blog site - have to say i wished i hadnt now cause now i feel rather jealous. Im in munich - having just got away from the snow and cold of the UK - only to be replaced with snow, cold and gales in munich. I know where i would rather be right now (not sure i could do it without Barry tho - soppy i know)
Looking at your bedroom in your photos, it looks a lot tidier than ems does at time lol, however not sure there would be enough space for all her clothes.
You look like you are having a great time, and managing to experiance a side of life that some of us could never imagine.
Take care, and have fun
Michelle
New adventures Well Matey, good to hear from you, you are getting very adventurous with your food. The swimming place sounds fun and the bike ride must get you nicely warmed up for a dip. I'm looking forward to the next installment already. love Daddy xXx
Hello Dear Claire,
You look so happy in your photos! They remind me of our time in Nigeria - similar flora but I don't think we had ants in everything, once a year we had flying ants and the locals would scoop them up in bucketfuls and fry them. They were a great delicacy so maybe you have that to look forward to! Pete was here at the weekend. He was fine but I can tell he's missing you. I'm sure he's told you about his off road adventure! Such is life and a good lesson learnt. Take care.
Love Bronwen x x
mmm pancakes hey?! Looking forward to trying one of those banana pancakes...
Like the countdown Sarah - very necessary! I can't imagine what it feels like to be warm and not wear about hundred layers! Claire - hope all goes well for this week in school. :-)
Green Cake, Monkeys, Tuk Tuk, Tomb Raider... My goodness that is alot of stuff for just a few days. Continue to enjoy and experience the sights and smiles. I am very happy to hear you are getting stuck in with the locals, experimenting with food, exploring at sunset, bicycling, spreading the fun of bingo into the world. Get stuck in oh fearless one ;-)
What a fun Sunday! I can't wait to see all the pictures! The internet is being really slow and had to stop waiting for all the pictures to download. You're taller than the monk.
Funny Sunday... Hi Claire, glad to hear you've found some monks already. Just wait 'til I tell the Upper Roomers that! Funnily enough, we were at a concert in the Festival Hall yesterday afternoon, and the thought suddenly entered my head that this was probably a somewhat different afternoon than you had spent...and clearly it was! Have fun, J.
good luck! Hey,
Good Luck for your first day of teaching! I hope the street kids centre is ready for you! ;-)
Photos are really cool! Are the monkeys big??! Pleased to hear that your days are a little different to being at home! he he!
Take care, Ella
RE: Welcome to Asia Thanks Dave, I thought of you when I was in Singapore airport for 7 hours!!! Yeah, the roads are pretty mad but they seem to work, and no one goes too quickly (I think the roads are too bumpy for that!). Let me know if you have any plans to book flights what dates etc. Good to hear your settling in news, all sounds fab!
Welcome to Asia! Hi Claire! Glad you arrived ok! Welcome to Asia!! Hope you have a really great time, but I cannot believe you are cycling on the roads!???
I'm about to embark on a two month volunteering placement in Siem Reap, Cambodia, followed by a few weeks travelling with friends. I'm using this blog to keep family and friends updated on my travels; please feel free to make comments! ... full info
