After we flew around Bago on motorbike we took a 4 hr bus to a town called Kin Pun which sits at the base of Mt Kaiktiyo. Caught an early morning taxi dumptruck (seriously) up the mountain. The best is it only leaves when full so only 50 more people! After a rough and tumble ride half way up, we were forced to walk the rest of way and did that happily. Golden rock, well is a giant rock that is just barely resting on the edge of the top of the mountain. It is completely gold leaf covered and is very sacred in Myanmar. All Burmese people will make a pilgrimage here at least once in their lives. Big temples around it and huge courtyard with all the shops. Only up here for about 30 minutes, so not exactly sure it is worth the effort in getting here, if you are on a tight schedule in Myanmar.
