For my travel blog I chose Anne Smith as my Armenian Genocide witness. The story of Anne Smith was about her aunt who had to to suffer in the Armenian Genocide. For example, one way that shows how Anne's aunt suffer was by giving up her family because she had to be sold to an Arab family in order to survive. Anne also talked about her aunt's sister that was killed in front of her mother and father. As a result, the sister's eyes were gouged out in front of her family. I related the sister's story to our novel, " Forgotten Fire" because in the novel Vahan's two oldest brothers are also killed in front of his family. I guess this was a way that the Turks used to scare other family members. After reading about Anne's story, I now know that the Armenian Genocide has been a huge effect to its survivors. For example, Anne explained how her father used her aunt's name, " Takouhie" to name after her sister.
