Genocide of Indigious People in Brazil

So we all that Brazi is a very large country;therefore Brazil has people that have many different beliefs. These people are know as "indigenouus people" who are people in a large ethnic group who inhabit in a country mainly because of European invasion in the 1500s. The genocide of indigenous people in Brazil began when the Portuguese colonize Brazil, more specifically Pedro Alvares Cabral.When the Europen settlares arribed they caused disease and violence to the indeigenouus people who were there (Brazil) before them. Over 80 indigenous tribes were destroyed between 1900-1957 causing over one million people dead through disease and violent enslvement. Although it was a long time after the genocide, indigenous people in brazil still face threats because of their cutural hertiatage . Since most indigenous groups are in Brazil, they are found in the Amazon forerst, which is whrampant groups are decreasing because rainforest mining, logging, and cattle ranching all have an affect on the indigenous people of Brazil
