The selected country was Afghanistan, and I am comparing it to the U.S. Based on the Human Development Report, I determined if Afghanistan was advanced or developing based on three indicators: health, education, and income. For health, U.S.'s life expectancy is 78.7 years. Also, the health is 0.926. While in Afghanistan, the life expectancy is 49.1. This means that there is a gap of 29..6 years of life expectancy. For education in the U.S., there is 13.3 years of schooling for adults and 16.6 years of schooling for children. Also, the education index is 0.994. For education in Afghanistan, there is 3.1 years of schooling for adults and 8.1 years of schooling for children. This means that the U.S. for adults get 10.2 more years of schooling, and for children, there is a gap of 8.5 years of education. For income, U.S. has an income of $43,480. While Afghanistan has an income of $1000. This means that there is an income gap of $42,480. U.S. is ranked number 3 while Afghanistan is ranked 175 in the nation. Therefore, Afghanistan is a developing country.
