Hi everyone
Today we had our first taste of coaching primary schools... what an experience!!! We went to one at half past 9, to find the students were sitting exams!! Despite all being arranged and organised apparently plans changed.. TIA = this is africa. Improvisation and we were at another school within 10 minutes.
These kids were the champions of the competition run by CWB last year and it showed!!! Some excellant bowling with many wickets and sixes being hit provided some great entertainment. The sixes resembled baseball shots rather then cricket shots but oh wel!!
We split into 4's in the afternoon to go to two different schools. Both seemed chaotic. Coaches were nearly run over in one when playing caterpillar cricket whereas in teh other there were 40 students competing with 300 watching. These numbers did change suspiciously as the teams seemed to triple through the games!
We had a rest day yesterday (Sunday) where there was a lot of chilling by the pool and a trip to the market. All I can say is thank god for the Norwegian girls also there who payed full price and didnt haggle!!! Everyone went after them which left us in relative peace!!!!
We then watched England vs South Africa, wasn't really a contest, more a feast on english pie bowling while listening to the most biased commentry in existence!!! Needless to say England got thumped!!!
We have another 2 schools tomorrow before on WEdnesday the biggest match of the tour! Greensteds school vs CWB Coaches!!!!!!!
Take it easy
