Well it looks like we only one the battle, but the war is still not over....

Last night was progressing like any other. Lindsey and I were sitting at our kitchen table

talking and playing cards. Nothing was out of the ordinary. However, while I was sitting

there, I kept hearing a skuttling sound. I did not think to much of it because the dogs

were out and they make alot of noise. But as I was about to dismiss the sound for the third

time, both Lindsey and I saw a mouse running across our living room. It was a seriously

delayed reaction because we both sat there looking at it before jumping up in cheer panic.

I went to get the garbage pail while Lindsey ran to shut the doors to our rooms. After the

doors were shut, we both began the systematic search of our kitchen to find the little

enemy. We were sure that he had gone into the kitchen but after a futile search of it, he

was no where to be found. So naturally, our search spread out to the surrounding rooms,

starting with the living room. We would shove the couches just enough to hope to flush out

the escapee. We found him under the largerst of our couches. As he came out from under it,

instead of throwing the bucket on him, both Lindsey and I started jumping up and down and

freaking out. After we settled down, I went to shove the next couch that he had hidden

under. He darted out so quickly that we were not fast enough to react. We started running

after him around the living room with bucket hand. But instead of catching him, the young

boy who lives in the house with us calmy steps on the mouse as he passes him. Lindsey and I

stared jumping up and down, screaming at Johnson for stepping on the mouse and for the fact

that there was another mouse in the house. Johnson picked up the mouse and went with it

outside. He layed the mouse on the floor and proceeded to hit it with a slipper. Needless

to say, the mouse died.
