Camping in Africa does have some real advantages, we are parked up and someone wanders over to ask if we want firewood, yes that would be nice results in a huge pile of serious wood lit and ready to enjoy. There is also never a dull moment. Breakfast this morning was interrupted by four young elephants charging through the camping area. Fortunately the campsite guards were on to it. Darren and I just grabbed for the cameras. Me safely clicking from behind the car, Darren in front of the car with one very cantankerous looking elephant heading straight for him. More the fool I thought, oh well every man for himself.

The other thing I really like about Africa is convenience shopping. Basically grocery shopping is a parallel activity to travel. It involves just pulling off the road when you see the goods you require and someone runs up to the vehicle wielding the goods stuffing them through the car window. No need to worry about parking or long check out queues, it is very hassle free, very efficient and has a lot to be said for it really. St Agnes is going to be hard work when we get home.
