Here at Wildlife Camp we do not find ourselves sleeping too late in the morning. We roll the rainfly up on the sides of the tent so the cool air can find its way into the tent during the night. By the early morning hours, we usually find ourselves under our sheet and a few times we have even used our lightweight blanket as well.
So our early morning routine is to have Laura go make coffee and Robert drop the sides of the tent and retie all the guy wires.
On this particular morning Laura went off and made the coffee. Was heading back to their tent where they usually sit and check out the bluff on the other side and see what they can see. Heard the "whistle" and turned to see Robert standing at the edge of the embankment.
There was a young elephant moving along the edge of the bluff down below us very close by. We enjoyed watching him eat along the bluff but did not come up until he had passed the camping area. We watched him climb up the bank and head toward reception.
The nice thing was the elephant was so close we could

really his tusks and trunk even enjoy his eyelashes!
