Well you can see from the lyrics of the preceding song that the religion of choice here is definite. I noticed that ASTOVOT is now ASTOVOCT! The C is for Christian of course! What did I do to deserve this? Oh right! But the people are nice enough and two French girls are supposedly coming! “Man make a god” I get some satisfaction out of changing the lyrics. Most are filthier (good thing these kids watching me write can’t read English!)

Work Schedule: 8 am - 9 am: Slow, inefficient transporting of sand.
9 am - 10 am: Break
10 am: Finish for the day

One guy with a wheelbarrow could have done the work of 12 + in the same amount of time.

Palm wine is quite strong and apparently I ate some rat yesterday. Almost finished “Portrait of an Author as a Young Man”. Very good, as was “Moby Dick”, “A Very Long Engagement” less so…
