Sunset in Stone Town
A sunset over the waters in Stone Town.We arrived in Zanzibar in the late afternoon on Thursday, July 6th. Ryan's connections with the chef at Chef's Pride, in Dar had arranged for us to be picked up from the port and directed to a nice hotel in the middle of Stone Town called the Pyramid Hotel.
After checking in we explored the area, and ate a late lunch. Later in the evening we checked out the fish markets which had an assortment of fish, octopus, squid, crab, lobster and much more that had been caught fresh that day and was cooked right in front of you.
Early the next morning we caught a 2 hour bus up to Kwenda to relax for a few days on the beaches and wait for the arrival of Jord and his mom. (Jordan Blanchet is also a friend from BCIT, and had visited me in Sydney for a few weeks on his world trip).
We took a sunset cruise with free alcohol the first night. The next day we walked to a small town just north along the beach and later enjoyed the Full Moon party at the resort we stayed at. Although the Full Moon party was not

The fresh fish markets along the harbour in Stone Town. anything like it was in Thailand, it was still very entertaining watching all the locals get completely pissed.
On Sunday (today) I slept much of the day, and tomorrow we head back to Stone Town to meet with Jord when he arrives there.
