Wild Kingdom Overload Syndrome. Is there such a thing? Because I think I've got it. Having spent the last few weeks in Rwanda and Uganda, getting soaked by rain while viewing animals, it was nice to dry out on the vast plains of Africa. We Mario Andretti’d it down the dust filled roads while droves of impala attempt to become safari-jeep hood ornaments. At the helm, Samson, our local guid... Read Full Entry

This momma with a collar made her babies go and hide in the long grass as we pulled up. She was a little nervous of jeeps approaching.

This wise ol' girl started to stalk a warthog. Unfortunately we followed and spooked him. I felt really bad as her family watched on and that warthog owes us one.

The elephants were my favourite, graceful and ever-observing. Their rumble greetings like electrical shocks through your body.

Fabulousness.
Andrea your African trip just keeps getting better and better. The photos are gorgeous (even the one of the randy cheese sandwich eating baboon)!

Aw shucks, thanks. My crappy camera did a pretty good job. That baboon mocked me.

Best trip ever!
I just love the experience of travel and I hope my blogs reflect that. I was thrilled that most of the animals were just feet from our jeep or my pictures would have been crapola.

Game Safaris Andrea...how lucky are you? There's something about the Serengeti that captures the soul...great name...great wildlife...great vistas. And how lucky were you to have Maasai guards?

That Song...
I think after seeing the rains down in Africa, its hard not to smile and think of Toto's song every time it rains. Love your big animal stuff ;) Keep hanging out with Aussies too!

Couldn't get the song out of my mind
When driving around the Serengeti, that song was all I could hear! The Aussies would burst out singing it once and while too. That and "the lion sleeps tonight". And the "circle of life." Pretty fun.
