APRIL marked the 1 year Anniversary for the Train the Teacher's Workshop for the Ladies in Moshi!

This past Saturday we had our monthly Train the Teachers workshop at Moshi, the ladies gather together to share in teaching techniques and ideas to help build up the children's Bible classes and the ladies abilities to teach them. While we were few in number this month, it was still a wonderful Ladies Class. We taught the first couple of months as we began this class a year ago this month, and then moved into letting the Tanzanian women take turns coming up with their own creative ideas and preparing lessons to share with the other women. It has been a huge success! The children's classes at Moshi are amazing! I guess I should say that the teachers are doing an amazing job! Sometimes a little spark can get the fires going strong! They have far exceeded anything that we had hoped for.

This month, Julia presented ideas on acting out the Parable of the lost coin, with a conga wrapped around her and tossing a silver coin into the benches and then sweeping the floor while she taught the bible

lesson, showing the ladies how she would teach it to the children to make it come alive! I was smiling from ear to ear.... but even better, she had a second illustration to share in telling the story of the 2 fish and 5 loaves of Bread and feeding the 5,000. She uncovered where she had secretly hidden a platter serving dish with a conga on the table of 5 buns of bread and 2 dead fish.... no cut outs or pictures, but actual dead uncooked fish from the market! We all busted out the cameras and had a great time, as would the children in her Bible class! She went on to tell how you could have the children begin to eat the loaves and the fish... (yuck!) but to make sure that the little ones watched out for the bones... No personally I've never seen this approach, but it would certainly leave a great image of the story in children's heads... the closest I ever came to that was using the boxes goldfish snacks.... back home. (maybe you could try that) But she had a basket ready and said that after they were all full then you could have the children go around and collect the crumbs and show how amazing of a miracle it was that there were 12 basketfuls of fish and bread left over after everyone had been fed in the scriptures.

I cant even begin to tell you how proud I was of her and her newfound creativeness! We went on with the ladies who were in the class to update the bulletin board and we rightfully used Julia's story of how God Will Provide... as our theme, to remind us all to be creative teachers!

Sunday morning we attended worship here in Moshi, where Brent was scheduled to preach after John Hall taught a wonderful Bible Class, he's doing a survey through the New Testament and Brent delivered a great lesson on stretching out your hand in obedience and the blessings that come with that simple act of faithfulness. But before class even began we all enjoyed watching a young lady named Neema, put Christ on in baptism, as the Lord added a new sister to His church! To God be the glory! AMEN! What a great way to start the Lord's Day!

It is our joy and privilege to be here day in and day out, to see the church in its growth and development, to watch how God's hand is reaching out and touching the lives of so many around us. As a mother I wanted to share something personal with you this week, that I know you can all understand. My heart was warm all over this morning as I turned around in worship to see My Emily on the back pew, alone in the corner thought no one could see her, where she was holding one of the little Tanzanian girls named Faith, with the little angel in her lap all cuddled up and Emily singing to her in Swahili and to see Faith look up to Emily and smile. To hear Faith speaking softly back to Emily in Swahili and to know that Emily understood what she was saying. Then this evening as we sat in Marangu Mwika waiting to see if anyone would arrive for evening service, Garrett quietly asked if it would still be ok to give the 2,000 shillings he had in his pocket which he had brought to put in the contribution because he knew that they were a growing new Congregation and that he could help! I wanted to bust out in tears, I swallowed the lump in my throat and just said yes, sweetheart, that would be wonderful! To know that your children are being used by God, is one of the greatest gifts on Earth, to see them embracing a world beyond their own and conquering each and every challenge with boldness and love, makes every step along the way, worth the character that it is building up in us all! I love the life we are living here in the mission field. There are long days, were you crave normality, slow days when you miss those you love the most back home, there are hard days when the devil trys to take hold of you by the throat, and you break down in tears.... But then there are days like today.... where life is as it ought to be! Where you know that what you are doing is good and you can see the goodness growing right before your eyes in the lives of your children! I felt blessed in a mighty way today just to be gathered together with the brethren in Moshi to
