Having grown up in Australia, I had no idea that when I left in December, 1998, I wouldn't go back. After working and travelling in the northern hemisphere for over 13 years, I then quit everything to travel through Africa in 2012. Since then I have also travelled the Silk Route and in 2015 moved to Bangkok, Thailand. The more I travel, the longer the lists of places to go grows, not shrinks. The flies are attracted to blue and these cloths are hung around the campsites to try and minimise their interaction with us humans

What happens when elephants are hungry

We woke up in the morning to see the ripped tarp and were told that an elephant came looking for a midnight snack, only clearing out when a ranger cocked his gun.

Early morning we picked up the permits and made our way down into the crater

After crossing the plains, he stopped and sniffed the air and made a beeline for our jeep again!

I hadn't thought hyenas were even remotely cute until I saw this youngster. On his own, he seemed a little lost with the rest of his family a few miles away
